Getting There

Getting to Gozo is simple with frequent flights into Malta. Once in Malta you catch a ferry to Gozo which run regularly between the islands and take 25 minutes each way.

Once on the island, there are great bus services however the simplest way of travelling around the island is by hiring a car.

Due to size of the island it is possible to walk between villages, many of the roads are quiet and are pleasant to walk along. There is also a network of footpaths across the island, but a good map is recommended.

Climate

Gozo has one of the warmest average temperatures in Europe averaging around 23°C in the summer, although temperatures of 40°C are not uncommon.

These drop to 15°C in the winter making the island a great winter break. Gozo also benefits from one of the highest sunshine hours in Europe.

Geography

Gozo is a small island at only 7km by 14km and is packed with a widely diverse unspoiled landscape which it quite different to its sister island, Malta.

The highest point on the island is close to the village of San Lawrenz where the Ta’ Dbiegi hill stands 190 metres above sea level, with wide views over the gentle sloping valleys. Its beautiful coastline dotted with bays and crystal clear water are also an big attraction for most visitors to the island.

There are many endemic plants and animals found across Malta and Gozo. Scientists are still discovering species to this day.

There is a rich abundance of marine life in the area which has made it one of the best places to dive in the world.
